Would you rather meet your great grandfather, or great grandchildren? Do you want a look into the past? Or a glimpse into the future? The answer seems kind of obvious, but consider it carefully. Lets see what you think...

I won't have biological great grandchildren, so I shall go for my great grandfather - though, from the portraits, he looks rather a solemn sort of person!

I would chose not to worry about such options, as they do not concern my interest... BUT IF I WERE INTERESTED THEN... hmm... I will get back to you guys on this one, but as of right now i think that looking into the past would be the most beneficial.

I think, perhaps, that looking into the past would be more comfortable than observing the future. I think seeing the future of my lineage would be almost ruinous to me.

Everything ends, is there any point to obtaining this information at all? All gains are temporary. Life is temporary.

Exactly. If you go far enough all you end up at is complete obliteration.

I wouldn't go as far to say obliteration, but maybe semi-nothingness.

I meant the obliteration of life, as that is essentially what we are discussing. What do you mean by semi-nothingness? Pieces of rock floating around in the endless void?

Oh, you mean just life... then yes.
And yes, pieces of rock floating around.

I only think in terms of life and the collective whole. All we shall be aware of is the obliteration but never the semi-nothingness.

Back to the grandfather thing, are we saying meet him when he's, like really old? 'Cause then I'd definitely rather see my great grandchildren. Or am I just being shallow?

Shallow I do not believe is the word that you were intending to jump to... But, I would rather meet my posterity than my predecessors.

I think I would like to meet my great grand parents because I dig the whole ancestory mystery stuff.
