I borrowed this from Soul Pancake and wanted to see how many people here respond, comment, etc. Do you think that the internet has made society as a whole dumber rather than smarter? It just seems to me that with basically an infinite amount of information at one's fingertips people to me just seem dumber than they used to seem before the internet. Look at how just the basics of grammar has changed and the way we communicate. Twitter for example??? PALLLEEEZE!!!

Well... firstly, i would say ,"near-infinite" amount of information.
I think that the internet provides us with a huge amount of information that is poorly used by those whom it is open to.

I agree with you Daniel. Although the internet offers a vast array of usefulness, it is so unfortunate that so many people misuse it or rely on it so much that it takes the place of the basics we learned in school, etc. - as is the case with much of today's technology. How many people actually add in their heads anymore, or properly put a paragraph together without the use of acronyms and icons?

No one does that stuff anymore because it is inconvenient and obsolete.

The lazy we can be, the dumber we get.

(I think that) laziness is not a correlative factor to being dumb.

8 Areas of Intelligence have been identified. It has been estimated that ever person on earth excels in at least 2 areas of this intelligence (even the mentally autistic, homeless, and third world country citizens). It has also been estimated that less than 1% of people excel in every area of intelligence. A modern IQ test will output results for you on 4 different areas of this intelligence. As far as I know for a fact to be true, I do excel in the IQ test 4 areas, and (from my opinion) the other 4 as well. You can train yourself to be slightly better in 6 out of 8 of these areas. 2 Of these intelligence areas are based on natural cognitive abilities.
